What Are Direct Thermal Labels?
Direct thermal labels are coated with a heat-sensitive chemical layer that turns black when exposed to the thermal print head. Unlike thermal transfer printing, direct thermal labels require no ribbon or ink — the print head directly activates the coating to produce sharp, clear images and text.
